The truck features alone are worth it, very specific to the truck you are driving the other gps's dont even offer much on that.

I've encountered several red light light warnings, speed trap warnings, accident area inter sections, very cool.

it does how ever have the little quirkyth9ings that all gps units have. Sometimes I just font get it. Just last night it routed my off of I-5 through central point, OR, only to have me return back to I-5 Pilot I was looking for two exits down. I was not happy.

But overall, i am very pleased with the Cobra.

I do find it funny it refuses to route me to one of our comapny terminals in Salt Lake the area has four big carriers and two dealerships. The street widths are enormous. I jusr change my truck profile to bobtail and it gets me there.

Our engineers have found a bug that was causing this, and we have a software update which should correct it. The software update will be officially released in about 2 weeks after we have thoroughly tested it. If you would like a beta version to try, please email me at 7700PRO@cobra.com

I tried running a route in Surrey, BC and my unit would not use 24th Ave. Instead it chose a longer path that avoided 24th. The same thing happened in Langley. My unit calculated a route that did not use 88th Ave. In both cases I chose a starting point and an ending point that would have made the suspect street the best way to go. Both times the nav unit chose a different way.

Regarding BCHWY-5, I have given the info to our engineers.

Sorry about your experience, I'm surprised to hear about that. If you remember who you talked to, please email me at 7700PRO@cobra.com

Regarding downloading off the internet, the data on the DVD is over 2 gigabytes (2,000 megabytes). This amount is definitely not practical trying to download off the internet, so it only comes on either a DVD or on an SD card. Sorry but you will need to wait for it to arrive.

Thank you for the info. I have since managed to observe the 38' length restriction, and I have forwarded the info to our engineers.

On the 7700PRO, tap anywhere on the map screen to access the main menu, then tap on "Point of Interest".

Thanks for the reply and the fix. Will this be available on the internet or will I have to order the DVD when it is released?

I don't quite understand this one. I'll try it again next tim I am in the area and see what comes up. On two occassions it has told me to go these routes. What about the New Westminster Columbia Street route? If you're heading east or west on Columbia Street the route should turn you onto Front Street and eventually back onto Columbia Street to avoid a truck restricted route on Columbia for approx 3 kilometers. This is a very heavily used truck route in and out of Vancouver and could cause a problem for anyone not familiar with this deviation.

Is there also a possible fix in the works for all the unnecessary side road warnings along a designated route.

    Thanks again for the help.

What? doesnt everyone have high speed internet by now, 2 gig file isnt that big. I Dl'd the Garmin update which was also a 2 gig file over my cell phone, it did take 5 hours but it wasnt a big deal. I wish you would make this available for download. I ordered the disk and so far I have not received it and I go back out tomorrow (that was a week ago (7 days)

Personally, I think Travel centers/Truck stops and CAT Scales should have there own "POI" designation not lumped in with the other POI's - which are somewhat useless because you can't drive your truck to most of them anyways. Its just silly.

Also when you see a POI icon on the screen shouldnt you be able to touch that POI and get that specific info? I think mines broke or something.....:biggrin_2556:

WHat about a picture viewer app? Wouldnt this be a great way to promote the 7700, I have yet to meet a driver who doesnt take pictures be kinda nice to drag the 7700 in to the diner and show your friends some of the things youve seen, both good and bad. I'm sure it would be talked about....:biggrin_2558:
