Since you're having problems due to the gap in driving, try this one.
It's ok when you go solo.
Has OTR and a local job in Denver. Yes, I'd work there if I had little experience and was offered a solo driving position.

As for the training…I don’t need to be trained. I know how to drive, I am a good and safe driver, and I have done a ton of work educating myself in trucking in general. I wouldn’t make these comments if it isn’t true. I probably also shouldn’t have used the word “training” as much as I meant that I don’t want to be cooped up with another person in a cab versus being trained. I been thoroughly trained and both my last jobs cut me loose early from training because I didn’t need to be trained any further. Are there things I can still learn? Sure. But it’s just the reality of things.
Everything else you shared was good though. Thank you. -
You're in Denver, if Magnum still hires newbies, I'd go there. 45 cpm is not bad for a rookie. If you don't have any other options, I'd take the offer you have. I do agree it's not the best job offer, but if you can't get on elsewhere, then take the offer you posted.

Finally, this board has been a great resource for when I'm going to an unfamiliar area and I know I'll be arriving late. A lot of experience in here and usually people will fire back with multiple options.Safe-Driver Thanks this. -
They do not have benefits for there drivers because they believe drivers are a dime a dozen, you don't want to work for someone like that.
The last thing is, you don't know, what you don't know, that's why you need a good trainer to teach the things you don't know. I was fortunate to have been trained by my Dad Started in high school unloading and loading trailers for him, ended up driving with him a good number of years. I trained my son who has been on his own driving for about 10 years now. He still calls with occasional questions, could be about how to load or secure something or even a HOS question. Yes you need a mentor, someone you can call even after your no longer in there truck.
Try calling GF La Caeyse in Grinnell IA, they may give you a shot. I dont know, but you have to try. The other place go hit up the ready mix plants, they hire a lot of bottom dump for sand and rock. You just never knowSafe-Driver Thanks this. -
