Too many red flags with them.

regardless, 10 years, no direct customers, sounds like they can't get it together.

3 men to run two trucks and one more (you?) coming on board, nothing adds up right here.

They sad they had a lot more trucks prior to Covid, but a lot of their drivers got freaked out during Covid and quit the business. Then rates dropped and many small business are struggling since that. I know a lot of small trucking outfits are going out of business every month because of the low rates. I am just repeating what they said to me.

But now that I hear others mention it like you, you are right, something doesn’t sound right about all this. That’s kind of why I posted this. I needed to hear others thoughts on this.

Not sure why they would be willing to go out and buy new (used) trucks though if they weren’t committed. I did ask about the 2 drivers they do have and they have been with them a long time.

It’s kind of weird because my spidey sense goes off when people are blowing smoke up my butt pretty easily, but these guys actually seemed like decent folks. I am in my mid 50’s and can usually tell these things by now, but if someone believes their own nonsense and sells it as truth, and I don’t have enough experience on the subject like I do here, I could fall for it. I have fallen for enough BS in this industry so far to be honest, but most of it is lack of experience and ignorance on my part in the industry.

I agree. You are going to live at grocery warehouses. That’s what reefers do. Grocery warehouses can be extremely slow. You sit 8-10 hours, you need compensation.

No layover? What happens when the truck goes down?

Thank you all for your input. Something didn’t feel right about it. I turned down the job this morning and I will keep looking.

No layover or anything of the like. It was just .52 cents a mile. They did mention vacation time and sick time, but I didn’t get that far in asking how much of each, but my guess is it was very minimal.
