What tarps does FCC carry, 4' drops and 8' drops?
Did you load them on a CA legal 53' spread by chance?

Supposed to be a “4 tarp system” which you turn them one way and you have 8’ drop and turn the other for 6’. But if you had a full lumber load you would need all 4 since there isn’t a flap.
With that said. I have one of the 4 tarps on and the other has a flap. So I have no clue what I really have.
This trailer is a ‘53 spread with the moveable axle to draw it in to be a tandem. Had it been a fixed 53’ spread, it would be fine as where the load is sitting would be just fine weight wise.motocross25, IH9300SBA, cdavis188 and 1 other person Thank this. -
After I delivered the mulch they had me grab a load in Sioux City and drop it in Fremont. Shipper and receiver were super nice but I can’t believe how dirty the trailer was, spent 30 odd minutes sweeping it and then when I got to Sioux Honey all the dust and wood shavings that had been hiding in the cracks had shaken loose and I had to sweep it again. Spent too long playing with it to get the axle weights good. Ran into some really annoying construction on 77 and wound up getting tied up for 20 minutes or so. Arrived 4 minutes over on my 14 hour clock.
As one would expect of a truck of its age, Stolen Valor has some issues. Been hanging out in Fremont since about 3:30 yesterday, they weren’t able to get it done tonight so I got the truck back a bit after 10 last night so I could sleep and they were tapping on my door a little after 6. It’s doing a regen now so I’m hoping I can get moving soon.
Current plan is to pick up a load in Crete going to Mt Juliet, TN on Wednesday but on time delivery is going to be tight so we’ll see if they take it off me.motocross25 and cdavis188 Thank this. -

Left Ontario this morning, got back to South Gate to explain to the loaders what needed done with the load. They had me untarp so they could rework it. They ended up taking the middle pallet (loaded two pallets wide for 3 rows, 1 single pallet, and 3 more double rows)
Loader wanted to move a full pallet and I explained the weight was only off 1200 lbs and the pallets are 3660. So he split a pallet in half and went to put it directly in front of the rest of the load. I asked him to set it on the nose of the trailer essentially.
Get back to scale the load, and still needed 280 more pounds moved. So I reworked some things and rolled across the scale with two full tanks as such

I dropped at Quaker in Blue Springs MO and no preplan so I went to the yard and came home for the night. See what tomorrow brings. I wouldn’t mind something being at the yard going to like Denver or something but that’s probably a pipe dream. Dallas is starting to wear thin.

After 16 hours total downtime (including from a little after 10 at night to 6 AM when they let me pull the truck out of the shop so I could sleep in it the truck has a new tensioner and belt for the APU, new steer tires, a new trailer light cord, and a new NoX sensor.
Only made it an hour or so before the check engine light was on, apparently it’s a “closed loop” code which from my googling translates from German to English as “you will empty your wallet until Daimler’s shareholders are satisfied with your sacrifice.” So the current plan is to run it until it derates or we get it back to Fremont whichever comes first.
The light cord was supposed to solve an issue with the trailer ABS light in the truck. No matter what trailer it’s hooked to the light comes on when you apply the brakes and stays on for a few seconds to a couple minutes. It still does it so I am assuming the next place to look is the plug and its wiring.
Also one of the mechanics left his impact wrench behind the cab. A guy flagged me down and I thought he was road raging but he was trying to tell me about the tool back there. So the next time I’m in Fremont I can return that.
I’m glad I don’t own one of these money pits.IH9300SBA, cdavis188, runningman0661 and 1 other person Thank this. -
