Terminal for my trucking company is 2-4 hours away from me

    As a moderator, I don't usually make recommendations but I'll make the exception this time. Take the job with Spirit and stick it out for 6 months. Yes, you will likely get screwed but I assure you, it won't be the last time in your driving career that you get screwed.

    That option would not work with my car for 2 reasons.
    1. Wrong terminal connection.
    2. Even with that small profile, there is not enough clearance between the battery terminal and hood.
    Yes, it really is that close.
    In fact, it is a remote terminal because the battery is mounted well below that point. To replace the battery you have to remove the inner fender well.

    Wow! I've never seen a car that you had to do all that just to replace the battery! Is it a highly modified race car or something?

    Quite a few vehicles these days it's a major issue just replacing the battery. It's not the 70's anymore.
