I love how they said "Sleeper Birth" instead if "Sleeper Berth." LOL. It's funny, you could be at the shipper delayed for 8 hrs, logging sleeper berth but sitting up in the driver seat, which is technically a false log but nobody will ever say anything is wrong with that lol.

You ain't lying about Indiana and Maine. They are some nitpicky states. I've received more violations in Indiana than any other state. I haven't gotten a log violation since I've been on ELDs though. I much prefer that to paper. Greatly reduces my errors lol.

I know a driver (not one of ours) that had an unfortunate encounter with Maine DOT and he was arrested and charged with falsifying logs all because he used the wrong time standard on his logs(he was supposed to use his home terminal, which was in the Eastern Time Zone-he was using the company headquarters, which was located in the Central Time Zone). His company bailed him out,the matter went to court, where the judge found him (and his company) guilty and they had to pay the fines and court costs and look as happy as they could!

I don’t know about you drivers, but I could do without the “Close Encounters of the DOT Kind”;)

Somebody in Safety probably wasn’t into their first cup of coffee yet when the message was sent.lol
Indiana hit us with a $10,000 fine because one of our trucks was overweight,so now we’re supposed to weigh anything picking up,delivering or just passing through the Hoosier State.

TB John, bryan21384 and Lonesome Thank this.

Dunno,my fleet manager at the time didn’t give me the specifics. He just told me it was one of our trucks and ever since if it even looks like it may come close to the Indiana state line that we have to weigh it.
I wonder if Indiana charges by the pound..o_O

Sounds like you’re the problem more than anything. 9 months of experience isn’t much at all. Maybe listen and learn instead of think that you know more than everyone else.

yeah we have to do that as well but then again my company wants us weighing every load regardless. Doesn't bother me any as they pay for it.
