    Sorry if this has already been covered, I am lazy and din't wanna read 18 pages of info to find it.

    As I read through the PSP (Pre-employment Screening Program ) FAQ, I read that Individual State Driving records are not looked at or taken into consideration here. Only Motor Carrier Management Info, which I take to mean, only stuff you did in a CMV that the Carrier has on file.

    I know ultimatley, the Carrier will look at your DMV record, but apparently, that info will not play into your overall rating with CSA 2010.

    I may be wrong, but heres the way it was worded:

    How does the driver’s record from a State Department of Motor Vehicles fit into the process?
    This information will not be available through PSP. The PSP only contains MCMIS inspection and crash information.

    I think you are 100% correct. What a CDL holder does outside of a CMV is not entered into the MCMIS through SAFETYNET. As I understand it, the only violations that are fed into the system are those that result during a roadside inspection or from a crash. I did read somewhere, and I'll try to dig it up again, that everything that is written up, roadside-wise, be it a fix-it ticket, or whatever, does show up in a driver's profile and in the CSMS. I'm confused enough, again, to go back and try to find out how the paper trail runs. I'll post when I dig it up again!

    One thing that I'm pretty sure (99%) of is that a driver's record, CSA 2010-wise, is only scrutinized during an on-site investigation of the driver's carrier. Pretty good bet is that the schtuff will hit the fan if a carrier gets a black eye because of a driver's record or because of the records of a number of drivers. Also, CSA 2010 interventions do not include revoking a CDL holder's license. That is the providence of the issuing state.

    This stuff is complex....makes my head hurt!!!

    Even though CSA 2010 has been delayed somewhat...it's not going help things if you know now that you will not qualify for the health regs. If you don't get out and look for another profession you might be in serious trouble.
    You will be thrust into the unemployment line with all the other 18% or so unemployed.
    If this is your only "ever" known profession you are "REALLY" in trouble, especially if you are over 40.
    It's hard enough to get a job when you are over 40 but to be over 40 and have no other profession to fall back on....that is not going to be good.

    Being overweight (by the BMI), having sleep Apnea, high blood pressure or being a diabetic is going to take out thousands of truck drivers in a industry that has known nothing but shortages over the last few years.
    Sure...it will get rid of some undesirables but it's also going to get rid of a bunch that have spotless driving records...even some I know that have been to the National truck driving championships.
    I can see products and services going up in a big way. I can also see small trucking companies biting the dust after this. If they made it through 2008 and 2009 without going under...they might not make this. Drivers that make the regs...might want to shop around for the best pay rate.:yes2557:
    It's not going to matter if you are skinny... even skinny ppl have high blood pressure.
    One of the examples of the new health regs...used a 6ft male as an example...if you are over 200 lbs...you are out.
    In my opinion, this is a ploy to increase rail freight. That is all I will say about that.

    I have Sleep Apnea, use a CPAP machine, Blood pressure is borderline, am on meds. I believe, as long as you are being treated, and pass the med screening, your good to go, but if the flags are raised during a med check, and your not being treated, thats when you need to worry.

    Hard to believe there are a lot of folks over forty with ideal blood pressure.

    I have HBP, have had it for at least 10yrs. I take meds for it. They work. I don't take the meds so I will be able to go to driving school and then drive a commercial rig. Ya know, Ike, sounds like you're taking care of your situation. Good deal!
