You know, I don't see that. Yes, there's a thins slice that makes a metric c### ton of money, but the ones on the bottom have been stepping up the ladder pretty quickly.

You can say $20 isn't enough, but it's a whole lot better than $10 or even $15. The retail part of my business caters to working class people, mostly Latino, and several have become friends. They are doing just fine. Very few are doing farm work, most are in factory or construction and are making well over $20. Those in construction typically are around $30 to 35. That's more than many college grads make.

Oh I see it. My daughters are almost 20. At their age I was married and I believe I was making $13.50 an hour. By no means was it easy but it was doable. They are making the same and can’t afford to move out of the house. If I hadn’t bought my property when I did I wouldn’t be able to afford it today. I think we all agree the gap is widening. We just disagree about the cause

Outback isn’t fine dining. Sorta on the same level as a poppa John’s. And that fed 4 not 2. Even if you do eat as much as 2 you are still just one

Around these parts 45K gets you a base model.
I thought I might upgrade my 2006 what with the cheap rates and all, but as this would most likely be my last new truck they are 67 to 80 grand for what I desire and loaded are around 100+..smh

I've noticed this as well. They're getting away with it because there's a market for it so to speak. I applied the same mentality with my trucking business. Instead of keeping my rates low and running hard, I raised my rates and catered to those who were willing to pay it.

Seems like many businesses are pulling a similar maneuver. There's a market for everything imaginable in this country it seems. I can't help but notice when I hear people complaining of rising prices while they continue to contribute to their ailment. The cure is simple... don't pay it.

Just like you've chosen a different path they can as well. I've done it routinely over the past few years. The Papa Johns vs Outback is a stellar example.

Like you, I'd give my money to Outback over getting raped for a pizza. Even though the Outback is still expensive it's st least in the ballpark of cost instead of taking it to outer space price-wise.

That’s simply assuming they are price gouging. That doesn’t account for rising property cost, insurance, taxes, raw materials, labor, utilities and so on. It’s like a certain someone wanting to price fix groceries. Grocery stores have a margin of around 2%. I do think greedy grocers are the issue. Inflation directly affects all the things I listed.

So because it's not as worse as it could be we should just be ok with subpar? I can't speak for wages or Latinos in your area. Each area has their own COL but $20/hr sucks if you're in a place like Baltimore.

I read an article the other day that said daycare (where they were) was running nearly $22 an hour. You'd be going in the hole at $20.

Hard not to, when our industry is so regulated by the government.

Their ingredients are no different than any other pizza palor. Would your meal have costed $80 from Domino's?

I also don't think it's accurate to blame inflation. The Fed controls the money supply. They are the only group that has the power to create inflation 100 percent without any interference from any party's influence.

The Federal Reserve is who's responsible.
