I think they are too....it seems like there is a member on here who works for them but I can't remember who.....that's a hell of an experience at that warehouse. I see their trailers at every Kroger warehouse around the country so that made me think of them.

Nicest trucks I've ever driven was at First Fleet. Big roomy Volvo's like riding on a cloud, very smooth even on bumpy roads.broke down plumber, Speed_Drums, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this.

Volvos are the best trucks I've ever driven. If I were to build a company from the ground up, it probably be a Volvo/Mack fleet. I know they have the look of the KW or Peterbuilt l, like so many drivers like, but Volvos have power and durability. So comfortable to drive.broke down plumber, Speed_Drums, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this.

NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO READ....but.....
Stay where you are now -- until you have at least a solid year there.
In the meantime -- begin to pick up those endorsements: tanker, hazmat...& doubles/triples.
The better-paying gigs will require them.
Now -- for some good news....
As I write this....I submit that....Nashville/Lebanon is one of the better areas to look for a CDL job.

You need to move closer to Nashville. There are multiple LTL gigs near Nashville, but most are on the southeast side (Smyrna, LaVerne). Averitt operates LTL on the southside of Nashville. Averitt has a yard in Bowling Green, KY. In addition to LTL Averitt has a lot of P&D collecting freight for LTL. Commuting through Nashville twice per day is poison since many LTL gigs are 12 hour days. People used to move a lot for jobs, now nobody moves unless everything is perfect to move. Is Roadway still in business? Roadway had a yard somewhere near Nashville.

That manual restriction and lack of endorsements will be barriers to LTL.

That's Associated Wholesale Grocers. Looks like their experience qualifications are decent for guys who don't have recent or maybe not a full year yet. They actually offer to buy any owner operator's truck who's interested in becoming a company hand. Lots of zombie operators out there should probably take them up on that. There's surely plenty of year round steady work.
