One note I will add to my set up before I installed these batteries and the main reason I changed. When Starting batteries are used to long they will shut down the bunk area and throw an alarm. Now the AC would still work but nothing else in the bunk would work.

I would have to get up and start truck up for 30-60 minutes and go back to sleep. This was driving me nuts since I would get about 7-8 hours into my 10HR and then get woke up. Since I stay up for few hours after stopping it would ruin my best sleep. Now this only happens in the summer when it was 85 plus out . With these new batteries the only time I have an issue is if the EPU batteries run all the way down. Have had that happen once and still have plenty of power left for starting batteries. Also these have built in jump starter incase you run them down too far.

I was reading up on it some more and apparently the Parksmart pulls from all 8 batteries until they get to 12.5v then only pulls from the house bank down 11.2 then shuts the system down. Which I would have option idle set to kick on somewhere in all that.

In other news.. May not be buying that truck but looking at one that has no apu/epu so would be starting from scratch. I've seen enough that I might like a diy better anyway.

I can't see the batteries running down to 11.2 volts. That's considered below dead and won't crank.

    12.2 probably.

Well.. I did miss it. It says 11.3?

"If the engine is Off, and the key OFF, pushing the PARK button with the blower in any mode but 0, activates the parked mode; it draws power from all eight batteries until battery voltage reaches 12.5 Volts. Then the bi-stable solenoid separator will open and the ParkSmart will run on the back batteries’ unit voltage reaches 11.3 Volts, and the unit shuts down."

    Found it here:

He was talking about the house batteries running that low. 12.5 Is when the starting batteries shut down.

Somewhere in all of that, the opti idle can be set to kick in. I'll still have that to learn about if I buy a truck with those specs.

Correct, If you have opti idle you can set it up to start before it hits the dead spot on the starter batteries. It would not be able to do that to the house bank since it does not see those batteries in the system. I almost got that installed on my truck for this reason but did not want to start truck that often.

Ya, if it only reads the start batteries, I wouldn't like that either. Except.. that with your lithium 12.5 is way lower than with agm. Another reason why your layout is working so well.

Best I can tell at your lithium batteries can pull down to 15% before reaching 12.5v while the AGMs hit 12.5 at 80% charge. That's a huge swing.

That is correct and these Lithium batteries have a built in jump starter for if they run too low. Makes them perfect for EPU set up.
I will never go back to AGM's as long as these work like they claim in the winter time. That will be the final test too pass on these batteries. With as much energy they have, I do not believe it will be a problem for them to stay warm during that time frame. Also I always have a small load on them from my camera system so I think that will help even more in the winter time.
