Who waits three hours to get dispatched? I will cancel the load after 30 mn.you said it yourself its usually pretty quick.you were empty the night before which gave you plenty of time to reposition yourself so don’t tell me its a bad area, seattle and Portland are few hours away and who goes to nowhere oregon on friday hoping to catch a load going home, what the chances of that happening doing power only?you made a series of bad decisions and you too proud to admit it.

Interesting story and I'm super glad to see any small win against TQL. They are the one single broker that my ego and perhaps wisdom go against any momentary need to get out of a jam. No matter what, NO MATTER WHAT!...I will not run for them. I delete TQL postings the second they pop up. I have never, not once, had a completely equitable run with them.

I try to keep in mind the old saying "when you play with snakes you get bit" and I seriously say that to myself when I see what appears to be a decent posting from them. "When you play with snakes....." DELETE!

Even if he made a bad decision, and I'm not saying that he did he may know things we don't. it doesn't rectify what TQL did. They should've just done the easy thing and give him a TONU and then done with it. But they were trying to make him pay for them changing their minds, which wasn't right. Especially if he does loads for them all the time and is easy to work with. That's worth something.

TQL has always been a fun place to deal with. I only deal with them a few times a year when a decent person from them communicates with me. Any other time I just tell them I am loaded.

Of course the people that want you to file on the bond will not tell you that you can never work for them again if you do. I have been burnt two times with them on paying detention but always get way more for a load with them before hand. I know this is how they play so I charge like I am gonna get 3 hours of detention.

I’ve been called before and told that a load has been canceled. I just asked nicely, Please send it to me in an email so we have visibility. Then the office invoices Tonu as agreed on. Being respectful and using tact goes a long way. If you piss off an employee of a brokerage or a customer that really could care less about you or even their own job, things can get ugly fast. It can save a lot of drama to tone things down. If my customer calls and cancels the load, I just say 10 four and ask when they want me to pick up the next load. I would never pick up the load after being told it’s canceled. Trailer or not. I don’t think there’s a way I would pull somebody else’s trailer unless it was a direct customer. To wishy-washy. Easier just to buy one. Theres practically dealers all over the place. Just walk in tell him what you need and they will surely hook you up. I kind of went overboard and bought two new reefers when I only need one. I guess I got carried away.

Im not arguing what Tql did, loads get canceled all the time and even if tql paid the tonu he would’ve sat a whole weekend for $250.as an experienced operator he didn’t leave himself room for maneuver even when the load had all the tell tell signs of a bad load.too desperate to go home

I had delivered in Hermiston the day before. Why ELSE would I go to Nowhere OR, Genius? I DON'T deadhead for the hell of it. Portland is 190 miles away and Seattle is farther. And the rates out of those two places are terrible. So why the hell would I deadhead that far to haul for $2 a mile? THAT is a bad decision. Hermiston itself IS a bad area, so don't try to say otherwise. I waited 3 hours because the trailer was going to Vegas. The other loads that were being offered would have taken me way out of my way. I would make the same decision again and again, if the conditions are the same. Maybe not with the same broker. The only snafu here was that TQL wanted to change things up. I had no idea they would do this, since I can't foretell the future. Can you? So you would have canceled after 30 minutes if you were under the same conditions with the same goal? Great, you wouldn't have gotten to Vegas. You would have had to go to Montana, Wyoming, etc. I wanted Vegas, and I ACHIEVED MY GOAL.
