Man, I would totally love have one of those to sweep out all the crap that people leave in my trailer which gathers towards the nose. I'd drop it right in their parking lot where it belongs.

I have a battery powered leaf blower and blow my trailer out after every load. Collect huge chunks of pallet and toss those in the dumpster.

You may want to fill the gouges in the floor with Key Polymer Crack Filler, and use their epoxy Floor Restore afterwards to seal it, so forklift drivers don’t tear up the floor more then it already is.

A lot of grain used to get shipped in vans and reefers in the Midwest. Lewiston ID is actually a seaport and that’s where a lot of it would go to get loaded on barges to go to Portland to get loaded on the big ships going to Asia.

We used to haul wheat on flatbeds to get to the lumber in North Idaho. Reefers would use it to get to their produce loads in WA. Swift would use it to get their vans back to Lewiston to the paper mill. Then 15 years ago or so they started building rail facilities all over to load the 110 car trains and it all went away.

Was that wheat packed in gaylords or did your flats have side kits?

We had soft side kits, one piece for each side and they overlapped a little on the ends. They had metal hooks that went into the top of the stakes and loops toward the bottom to hold the bottoms out against the stakes. They came in about 18” onto the deck and the weight of the wheat basically held them on the trailer.

I actually sand these down and fill them with jbweld. Has worked really great for me. It is cheap and I almost always have it on hand. Has held up great in the past. When I get some more time I will patch those as well.

I think this trailer first went into service in Indiana so I guess that would make sense!
