The DOT officer
1. Truck parked at rest area.
2. Driver exits said truck.
3. DOT officer who is at said rest area, sees driver get out of truck, comes up to driver and informs said driver of a random inspection.
Told by DOT that I'm supposed to be on-duty at dock EVEN IN SLEEPER

Officer asks "did you ever go inside?"
Drivers says "yes I went in and showered, ate some food and watched some Law and Order reruns".
Officer gives ticket for falsified logs.

I had a cop say the same thing. Over my 8 hour sleeper. He didn't ticket me but that was a lesson to think about.
Since then I've logged a combo of both off and sleeper. Cuz realistically. They know you don't drive sleep drive sleep.dosgatos Thanks this.
