Schneider said they'll rehire me which i really am grateful for, just not ready to commit if i can do better ya know? Management there was really good to me and my co-driver, you really get treated different there as a team driver. Is there anyway to know if those companies on craigslist or Facebook classifieds you should stay away from? Like are1099 jobs typically bad? I'm concerned a lot of them are bad companies by hearing other reviews. Know this is kind of ironic after all the bad things that could be said for Schneider but i got lucky i guess.

 

Those 1099 jobs are great for people that have serious problems in their background and can't find driving jobs elsewhere.

 

maybe you misunderstand what i meant, i read these places with hold checks, don't pay for worked hours or miles without having to double check them all the time. seems to be a trend with these foreign based companies that are 1099 out of the chicago area.

 

Some are crooked just as some W-2 companies are crooked.
Even working for W-2 companies most drivers check and double check their paychecks looking for errors and often do find errors. Errors on detention pay, stop pay, etc.

There are companies you could go to. You go that route if you have a lot of capital. You still gotta go by the regulations. My company would probably hire you, they can be forgiving about one's past. Many of us over here have skeletons. They will send you to get a physical though. It's just how they do things. You may or may not have to get a sleep study. I don't know what the doctor will say. If you're interested, we can talk through private message and I'll get on the horn and talk to them and try to pull some strings for you.
