Yes, it's worth going with a 2nd chance company. That's how you get started in your situation.

Nobody starts playing baseball for the NY Yankees. You start somewhere between T-Ball and High School. You learn the skills, make mistakes, get coaching, improve your skills, learn some of the mental portion of the game, play more advanced baseball, learn even finer details of the game, then get drafted and start in single A to AAA, prove you have the skills and one day if they need you get called up to the NY Yankees, or whatever other team. This wasn't a paragraph about baseball. It's an analogy between wanting to drive a truck and have a great job in trucking. Make choices as if the results will follow you forever. Don't make decisions for the short-term unless you can live with getting closed out of the better employers. Not having 5 super star employers bidding for you right now doesn't mean you will never have a good job. EVERYONE expects new drivers to be impatient less careful and a risk-taker. You don't get to the better jobs by being those things but by proving you are the opposite of those things, not just saying you are those things or you are tired of being called those things just because you are young. You can't whine your way to success unless you are a hot women.

Yes, can get a CDL at 18 but not allowed to cross the state line.
Is he driving a full size truck or a pickup truck with car hauling trailer?

He didn't get caught. If he had, the authorities would have detained him and his father would have to go there to drive the truck after paying a huge fine. Your buddy would have his cdl downgraded to a Class-C automobile license.

If your friend had been involved in a wreck in another state he would spend the rest of his life trying to pay off a lawsuit to the other person involved even if the other person was at-fault. Why, because your friend couldn't be there legally at that particular time.

@Ridgeway your opinion? Was a car wreck, not a CMV.
