Im just trying to figure out how I can get started feels like i wasted 4-5 months getting this cdl and endorsement training in a Manuel for what for nothing I really only need to work for someone for 2 year till this accident is off my record and then il have experience to buy a truck and be able to get insurance didn’t get my cdl to get paid .20 cents a mile at that point I might as well work at McDonald’s

If you're 20 and have 50k you're ahead of just about everyone. Don't worry about the 4 months getting a cdl. It's not worth dipping into savings to justify the cdl. Let it go. There isn't any money in trucking now or the foreseeable future. Especially if you're going to be starting out. First year blows. It gets a little better after that but just a little. You can make better money as a merchant marine or a lineman and those jobs can offer benefits.

That is unfortunate. Are you only at state minimums on your insurance coverage? The good news is that your insurance company has to hire your representation if or when you are sued. So long as you were covered at the time the accident occurred you should not be without an attorney in that scenario as a defendant being sued for property damage or personal injury. It will be tough for you to find a job without the accident anyway if you need training. I would wait until I was 21, the accident is "old" enough, or both. Then I would try applying for jobs again that are driving.

Call Inland Xpress in Salt Lake City, they may give you a chance. Probably put you with a trainer. Sounds like you need one.

    Really??

Whoops, there it is! (cue song)

OP read my post very carefully and lose the attitude.

You have been involved in what this industry considered a very serious accident. It isn't about you (which you have to get in your head) but it is about how the insurance views risks you pose to others and how much it will cost if you repeat the accident.

Now you may not get this but all the bullsh**** we put up with is caused by idiots (yes IDIOTS) who get their CDL and just think they know how to drive a truck because it is just a large car. Then when they have issues, they run out and get a truck and scrape by.

Insurance companies and the FMCSA react to this idiocy by adding more and more crap on our backs and it is tiring to hear someone complaining that they can't get a job but then had five accidents, 12 incidents, and two over 15 tickets (I had an applicant with all of that and still not a suspended CDL).

IF you are serious, then deal with the accident as an adult, it happened and there isn't a thing you can do.

What you haven't mentioned is what segment of this industry is your target segment.

OTR, Regional, Local, flat bed, Ag ... what??

Right now if you were here in my state, you could work for a number of companies in construction (believe me they don't care about that accident seeing what's happened here), or in local deliveries.

You can even go over to UPS, they will put you on the dock for 6 months and then move you up into a truck, half of what they need you to have you already have. AND hell the money isn't bad at all.

But you have to lose the attitude and deal with the criticism, listen to the negative as much as those who are trying to make you feel better because collectively we have seen everything and know what's going on.

I guess I misunderstand. Until recently you never heard "it wasn't that bad only 2 cars were totaled."
New guys are from another planet, I guess.
Wife: Hey honey, Welcome home. How was your day?
Husband: Oh, it as okay. Only 2 cars were totaled. Hey what's for dinner?
Wife: I saw Madison at the grocery. She and Dakota invited us over for dinner next weekend.
