I’d say 95% of drivers both four wheelers and trucks speed many not even slowing their speed through construction zones. When I hit a construction zone, I typically will slow down to the speed limit or maybe two or 3 mph above it. And I literally almost get blown off the road by the other drivers passing me. Especially if it’s tight and the lanes are narrow. You’ll see these truckers come through even in a 45 mph Construction zone still trying to do 70 miles and half the time they can’t hold their lane. I get a little bit of revenge when I get to the end of the construction zone and they’re about to pass and then you come out of it back to regular speed limit…I speed back up and I don’t let them pass me. my thoughts on that are you wouldn’t have been able to have pass me if you weren’t speeding through the construction zone and now that we’re out of it too bad. Lol

it is getting pretty crazy out here. The reckless drivers are becoming more and more frequent. I don’t know where the enforcement are. You rarely see it. Last night driving through Louisiana the drunk drivers were out in full force. Starting around midnight. I must’ve saw a dozen drunk drivers and I don’t mean a little bit drunk. I mean so drunk about driving off the road many of them with their lights off and everything else. No cops around anywhere.

That's part of the problem. I rarely see Highway Patrol patrolling the highway, doing their job. Their main interest seems to be drug busts more than just dealing with moving violations. I've run full shifts without seeing 1, so where are they? The motoring public just seems to act like a bunch of kids getting out of school on the last day before summer break. Running rampant.

I think what happened was, years ago when police officers were doing there job, crooked lawyers and judges would accept payoffs and the guilty walked. (Years ago, I witnessed a dad bragging in a restaurant that he got his son off of a drunk driving charge for $300.)

So, cops stopped waisting their time. It is on here all the time….lawyer up and get it reduced to a parking ticket.

Well, when it comes to our family members being injured and or killed, we probably won’t be so happy with slimy, pedifoggers.

Enter into third world nation status. Better be ready to pay the man.

Maybe the cops are just a bit more afraid these days.
Too many people carrying guns that will shoot first.

Couldn’t pay me enough to be a cop these days. Honestly don’t know how they deal with it. My neighbor was a cop, super good guy, genuinely cared and tried his best to be professional and ethical. Couldn’t deal with it anymore, just quit. Started his own thing and is happy now.

Here’s one of our favourite cities. Cop cars are left unattended in random areas of the city for the privileged folks to restock on some of their rifles as well as ammunition before they start their graveyard shift gig.

It's not just them becoming more afraid of public, it is the public that became less afraid of them.

If the construction zone doesn't have any workers present, such as we sometimes see on the weekends here in Maine, does the reduced speed limit still apply? I thought it did, even if the construction zone isn't active, but a co-worker told me yesterday that it doesn't. Which is it?
