Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

Apparently there's still big money out there since the forum is still getting tons of new posts from fresh members eager to buy/or already have bought equipment.

 

Maybe we see a year-end spike in rates/freight availability with the drug/alcohol clearinghouse rules going into effect Nov 18? Wonder how many of the 134,779 are still currently driving?

That's definitely a lot of drivers and the states are the ones responsible for down grading licenses so, it will happen lots quicker than if the feds were doing it... IMO

Probably a lot of demand for campers now where the storms hit.

 

JB Hunt just reported earnings of $1.49 beating consensus estimates of $1.42 with a 10 % drop in load volume. Operating income for the reported quarter July - September 2024 decreased 7% year over year to only $224.1 million. Not sure if these drops are enough to signal a recession is in place. They often say rather than focusing on Non Farm Payrolls, PPI, PMI, CPI, the powers that be should focus more on what is happening in the repo industry, are they up in volume, home foreclosures up or down? Vegas one of the main venues for major conferences are bookings for these events up or down?

 

Credit card balances have dropped two out of the last three months. People are completely freaked out about this election. The fear porn on both sides is stupendous.

Using Open Roads I'm seeing Diesel below $3.00 in many areas of North Carolina & Virginia.

Low Diesel early on can indicate slowing demand.
