Don't feel bad about it..it's very common and I've been dealing with it since 1986. My bp is always normal.at home the goes way up at the doc
Go ahead and go to doc and get some bp meds. I get only a one year card every year. I do t think I really even have high bp but since its always up at the doc he prescribed it to me. I've tried all the other hocus pocus and it never works. The bp med should take.care of it..and no I'm not a fat ###.

So many people claim White Coat syndrome, but who's actually checking their blood pressure at home? If your blood pressure is too high when you're feeling stressed then it's probably too high all day while driving. It might be an excuse that's killing you.

I check mine at home somewhat regularly. Almost always 15-20 points lower, than when I'm getting my physical.

One of the down falls of trucking. Just “take” or be “put” on meds regardless if you actually have high BP or not.

you have 3 months. Make some changes. Try to walk a few miles per day and get that heart working. Also, try to be done eating by 7pm the night before your next physical. No sweets, treats, food, maybe just some h20. Or you can just take the pills and get a 1 year.

But you DID pass; you got a 90-day card. Go see a doctor, start on your BP medications, and stop being such a drama queen...

Caution is warranted when making such statements. It is widely accepted that the ideal approach to managing high blood pressure (BP) is through lifestyle modifications rather than medication. Additionally, it's crucial to note that a high BP diagnosis should not be based on a single measurement.

In instances where high BP is properly diagnosed, it is imperative to lower the BP quickly, which, regrettably, often necessitates medication in the short term.

Currently, the trucking industry is predominantly challenged by diabetes and hypertension. Last month, a friend in his sixties shared that he had lost his medical certification and does not anticipate its reinstatement. In July, he was diagnosed with type 1.5 diabetes and hypertension. He has since been offered a position as an account manager with a carrier based in Atlanta and has begun implementing lifestyle changes.

When you take your blood pressure at home hopefully you have machine that has app also. It will keep a record on you phone you can show the doctor that. Kinda shows how close to 140/90 you are most time or not. How much it going up at the doctors office.

This guy Kevin Rutherford had radio show on satellite radio all about driver’s health. He’s now on facebook live I think and his own website. He had good advice he would say Don’t exercise or count calories and don’t eat salads. Because everyone try that and fails and gives up.

If you need blood pressure pills like others had said they are very cheap. You can get the small dose like 10 mg of Lisinopril seem pretty standard prescription. 28 and on blood pressure is young but you can get driving job take pill every day get blood pressure under control. Once you get job heath insurance they will pay for you blood pressure pills. They are cheap if you had to pay yourself till you get job.

I’d reccomend not even drinking water

I’ve scheduled my exam for mid morning and I’ve usually chugged a bottle of water on the drive over for ammunition for the urine test .

    And noticed it raised
    My BP considerable

if I schedule my exam abut 9 am and just get up and don’t drink anything at all my BP is noticably lower

It's my impression lots of trucking companies will not hire a driver with a 90 day DOT card. The OP is not even in CDL school yet. I think the chances of getting hired with no experience and a 90 day card is 0%. IMO, he's got to get at least a 1 year DOT card to get hired as a stranger on the street.
