It’s not pretty simple. Is washing a truck work related if it’s my truck and I’m not mandated by the company to keep it clean. I could let it get dirty and not wash it for months if I wanted or I could wash it every day. When does it become work related
Personal Conveyance law and washing the truck on weekends.

Truck wash is on duty event, what else could it be?
As far as I am concerned, life is too short for this petty crap. Take it to wash on P.C..and if they ask, tell'em you went to a restaurant...maybe they'll never find out.drvrtech77 and Iamoverit Thank this. -
me personally If it is my only choice to get truck washed or f up my logbook. I will let that truck collect all the dirt in the world...Siinman and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -
Stop trying to split hairs with this, others have been doing it for a while and a lot of people are caught falstifying logs because of it.
The worst thing the FMCSA did was to say anything about it, before it was an unwritten loophole that exist but now thanks to those who want to use it to drive 700 home, we have more confusion, more abuse and more people thinking that it is what they want it to be.
The company sets the rules, if they say you can't use it, then you can't. If they put specific limits on it, then it is their rules.
Driving to get an oil change, or driving to get it washed or tires rotated and peed on, that's all maintainance and has been for decades. It won't change no matter who owns the truck, or who the driver is.Siinman, roshea, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
