They were not in the Warsaw pact but had the red star on their flag, Marx was adored by the leadership ruled by Tito, the communist, for 35 years. It did not take long after his death for them to implode and end up in a blood bath. Serbs are said to be Russian little brothers, don't forget that. They were more aligned with the eastern block than the capitalistic West, no doubt.

 

Yugoslavia was always independent then in 1992 after the war started it split into Serbia, Bosnia abd Hercegovina, Croatia.

 

Yeah I know, that's why I was thinking it was wild if people from central (or "Eastern" as Americans refer to them) EU countries were coming into the US illegally, when they can work anywhere in the EU that they want.

I call them Yugos, which I hope ain't offending by any means. Lots of them emigrated from the war torn region to Austria in the 90s also to Switzerland.
