    Hi Guys,
I’m a new driver and leaving tomorrow 15/11/2024 from denver for Seattle with full trailer load (tandem Step Deck)what’s the best route? 25 to 90 or 80 to 84.

    Thanks in advance

Personally I would take 25 to 90. If I can avoid 80 through Wyoming that is almost always a good choice.

Make sure to check the weather first. They’re expecting 1-2 feet of snow on Snoqualimie this weekend.

Denver-Billings-Seattle only bout 65 miles longer but probably better n 80
But ifn it’s was me….I take a hard look at 70-191-15-84-82-90
Mileage bout same as up thru Billings
I know people complain bout 70
But I’ve always had better winter luck Co-Ut than Wyoming
    Just my $.02
    Enjoy the ride

No matter what route you take, be prepared to throw some iron on some of the mountain passes.. I-25 to i-90 when u get to montana u have Bozeman hill, homestake pass (east of butte), lookout pass, 4th of July, and Snoqualmie...

If you go 80 -84 - 82 -90 you have cabbage hill/Deadman pass in oregon.. the ones near Yakima wa on 82 and you will still have to go over Snoqualmie on 90..
if you want to avoid Snoqualmie you can take 84 all the way to Portland and go north to Seattle from there.. but this will add approximately 100+ miles.. but in the winter sometimes it's worth it to avoid the dingleberries that don't want to throw chains and end up spinning out halfway up the hill

i’m sorry but, You guys got me really confused here, I checked weather forecast by the time i’ll pass snoqualmie it’ll have 1 or 2 inches of snow I think i can work with that so I’m taking 25-90 but thanks for all the information but if yall insist on taking 84 through portland I can still change my route until then 90 it is

No worries. We are just making suggestions. If only 1 or 2 inches on Snoqualmie by the time you get there you should be fine.

I just checked snowqualmie pass weather and it doesn't look too bad. I think you should be just fine, especially if you can time it to go through during daylight hours. Either way though I think you will be just fine.

I'd probably probably take 80-84-90, because it's 50 miles shorter. There is some light rain and light snow, forecast no accumulation in near Twin Falls, ID. Google shows 1315 mi versus 1371 miles on using I-90 through MT, ID. I-90 is beautiful compared to the 80/90 route. It seems less chance for ANY precip on I-90. If the extra miles are no problem and time is no problem and you can obey speed limits in the curvy ID section I'd take I-90.

If you take I-80 to I-90 I highly recommend you take the I-84 Ogden bypass in Utah to miss Parley's Summit/ most of Salt Lake City and continue to ID, OR, WA.

WA & OR require you carry snow chains, big fine if you don't. HUGE fine if there was bad weather and you close the road by not having chains. But for next few days it doesn't look likely.

Your last good chance for parking outside of Seattle is the TA Seattle East in North Bend, WA 1-90 Exit 34. I would reserve a paid parking space unless you arrive before lunch local time.
