Why even ask the question AFTER you start working at the company?

Talk about going in blindly to the unknown.

I think I have to agree with LTL Bull.

Well, aside from losing out on the chance to be the first person here to tell you that you are a fool, let me address some items:

    1) You do not have enough experience to be making the decision yet to own a truck. You also do not have enough money to be 'independent'. Wait until you can buy your own truck with at least 1/3the total cost as a down-payment; anything less than that nearly guarantees you will fail.

    2) Lease-to-own schemes ONLY favor the company. Having once worked inside at a company that did this, I can tell you that the trucks they made available were the ones they were about to GET RID OF, and absolutely NOBODY who bit on this terrible scheme EVER fully paid-off the truck. Most went bankrupt in 2 years, and those trucks that were not wrecked were made available for the next fool to play around at owning his own truck. Some were sold 3x during my 4 years there!

    3) Super Ego is just a plain c@ppy company any way you look at it.

4)Who the h*ll adds that they are "** and a half" years old after they reach the age of 12??????

Good points; How will you handle the first $10,000 breakdown? What about income taxes? You know, you are REQUIRED to pay quarterly, don't you? At the end of year#1, the IRS will require ALL taxes you owe, PLUS late fees for the quarters you did not file, PLUS you first quarterly payment for the new year as well!

He said it; not me, but I agree 100%

I'd say it's probably a 50-50 chance here. The age '24 and a half' makes me think this is a troll post from a stupid teenager or a foreign troll, but there is also an incredible amount of naivete here. In fact, somebody as dumb as this guy who can actually spell correctly make me think it's maybe more 2/3 - 1/3 likely to be a troll. Only a real knuckle-dragger would buy into bad deal this far....

Exactly. Are you a masochist? Is your motto "Yes sir, give me one more, sir"??

Maybe he just wanted a free trip to Jacksonville? I hear it's LOVELY this time of the year!

Getting closer to 200 years of experience by now, and still rising....

"W hat a fool belieeeeves he seeeees
no wise man has the power to reason away
    what is seeeems to beeeee
    is always better than nothing;
    than nothing at al"

all of you assume everyone has heard of L/P before. I had never heard of it and had been driving for over 30 yrs before coming on here and hearing of it.

and this site is only known to maybe 10% of drivers out there, others have never heard it. it ain't like it's part of your CDL learning process.

I found out about just by pure chance as it popped up one day looking for some info on something.

Back in 2010 my CDL school specifically warned us about L/P.

Taking a larger view, it's not just the trucking industry that has to deal with this stuff. Cutco, Mary K, and the various multi-level marketing schemes are abundant in the world and should be regulated out of existence.

If the "fish" would do any research before jumping in they would be protected from harm AND we wouldn't expand the govt. We don't need the Govt to be our parent, we need to look the eff out for our own well being by investigating BEFORE putting the fishhook in our mouth.

I think the OP is a Reddit dude making up a scenario & watching our reaction.

The kids can notice what people with a better outcome are doing & do that. EVERYONE can find an excuse to fail. It doesn't mean you could not have succeeded. It usually means you are a herd animal. If the herd animals march into a slaughter house, oh well. If they WANTED a better outcome don't do what the herd animals are doing.
