No, I don't think they will break their rule. Insurance companies make the rules and companies follow those rules.

Depending on the class of citation has more to do with the long term than anything else. In the CDL world, 15 over is considered very serious. 20+ is very very serious. This is why the classification is important. Some states rate 20 or more over a higher level than say 10 over. That is the reason why knowing what they classified it as. This dictates the time it stays active on your MVR. As part of the conviction, did they suspend your license? Or put any other notations, like get another citation and your license is suspended for X time? If any of these items, it extends the time to clear the record.

Not to be negative here, but the reality is, most companies and their insurance providers will look at that citation and the automatic position is you make poor choices. Sucks, yep, may have been a one off mistake. They don’t care. They see a potential liability and lawsuit. None of the big companies are going to touch that. Second and third chance company, maybe. You could try one like western express or similar ones. If you can get on with a company, be prepared to be an indentured servant for 12 to 24 months. Stick to it, keep your record clean and more opportunities will come along after that.

Yes my record is clean one misdaminor but it's minor. I was able to become a corrections officer. I don't think it will stand in the way of working for a trucking company.

You don't need to move to Las Vegas. The rules for CDL are pretty much the same nationwide, since it's a federal rule.

I was born & raised in moonshine country in Tennessee. The guys in high school that ran moonshine had the fancy fast cars. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of them.
