I dont think flashing brights during the day is rude, I think it is just ignorance (dont take it personal). Someone can hit a pot hole which can make it look like they flashed their brights. If I pass you in the day time and get brights, dont be surprised if you dont get thanked.

Lol, first of all, you say it don't bother you. Then, you say its ignorance but proclaim not to take it personal. Lastly, you say you won't be grateful if you get highbeams in the daytime yet you start your post in saying it doesn't bother you so, what gives??

I don't know where you get the idea that I don't know if the law pertains to daylight hours or not. The law doesn't state daylight or dark meaning it is always the law.
Now, you may choose to break the law if you wish. You may also choose to tick off those of us that don't appreciate jerks flashing high beams in our eyes.
Me personally, if I thought I was doing something that helped people but found out that perhaps half of those people didn't appreciate it, I would have to stop doing it. That's just me. I won't do something that I know will piss people off. You may be different.
Somehow a lot of us did really well giving courtesy lights for many years. In the last few years somebody decided they wanted to flash high beams instead. I don't know why and I really don't appreciate it.

I dont recall saying it dont bother me, but it dont. I didnt proclaim nothing. I said dont take it personal. I didnt say that I am not grateful if I get high beams in the day, I said dont be supprised if you dont get thanked. The reason being is, sometimes it is eaiser to see if someone has turned their lights on/off or off/on than it is when someone hits their high beams.

    Flesh flashin'?

I think I see the light now.
It never occurred to me that there actually are jerks who get ticked off when other drivers flash their high beams in their mirror(s).
Your posts in this thread resemble your criteria description.
Does that mean you'll have to stop posting in this thread?
Quite a gesture on your part
    .
I think the change(s) y'all notice is the new breed changin' things to
    their idea of better.

Yes it does. One thing I learned in seventeen years as a bar bouncer is that arguing with idiots is pointless.

Potato, pototo..... So you didnt use the same words..... Sue me. But the point still remains, You still said that you dont think its rude but then you refer to it as ignorance. So which is it??
Well, I spose this is where I got confused. In one aspect, it "appears" that you are ok with it but later on, you "appear" to not be ok with it if you say you wont thank anyone for doing it.

Get my confusion?? I got one guy sayin that its normal to thank someone for something done was rude and another sayin "I dont like what you did, but I hardly think its rude."

Not tryin to lock horns with ya, just tryin to figure it out, thats all.
    LOL......^^^^^^^^

So with this new light, you expect us to just assume that the law is pertaining to both day and night? I heard in a movie once that assumption is the mother of all "beep"-ups....
That's still yet to be determined at this point. From what Ive seen, I have no idea I've agrevated anyone because no one has told me; well, except you and maybe one or two other people in here. On the road, I got thanks, nearly all the time. There were some that didnt, but again, I have no idea why. It coulda been because they didnt see my "bright" lights, or too lazy to say thanks; one reason could be that they may have felt they didnt need my assistance durin the day or maybe I did it to someone who was goin considerably faster than I was. I dont know and will ever know.
Hows that old song go by Aaron Tippin, The one about somethin like, If you trim yourself to fit the world, there wont be nothin left?? Yeah, theres somethings we need to refrain from. Killin people, stealing, rapin, child abuse, and so on and so on. But little things like highbeams durin the day is just crybaby stuff. Theres more things that happen on the roads these days that people need to stop doin other than gettin butt-hurt over someone shinin 1 to 2 seconds worth of highbeams at someone during the day.
Sorry, other than that, I really dont know what to tell you anymore other than deal with it. Theres things that happent to me every day that i think are twice as worse and more unsafe than your little highbeam issue but you think my getting mad at them is gonna change anything?? Not hardly.
So, what are you trying to say, everyone that doesnt agree with you are idiots? Wow, thats a pretty BOLD statement there, buddy....

The only time i flash lights is at night. Only time i do it in the daytime is when the other truck needs to get over, cause he has traffic on his butt. At nite seems 3/4 of the drivers will flash a thanks. Day time less then halif. I always give a one flash after i pass, if i dont see them flash me, and i give two flashes if i see them flash me. As far as trucks pulling over to help when you are broke down, I always pull over for a fellow driver from my own company, but they dont always pull over for me. As for the drivers from my own company that dont pull over , you can kiss my arse.
