I always flash four wheelers if they flash me in, or if they slow down to let me move over. The four wheelers get a kick out of it when you flash them back, and it encourages them to be helpfull to other drivers, especially when you are trying to merge into another lane in a cluster f###&. So all you drivers, let the four wheelers know that you appreciate it when they do something nice for you.

One ambiguous law from one unknown state, hmm. Are those the same state cops that like to sit in the median with their high beams and spotlight on to light you up as you pass them in the dark? It's definitely the same ones that ride your bumper on the highway with all their lights on high "trying to read you license plate" so they say. Yeah, don't care.

Potato Potato. This is my take on it corneileous. Not from any law books and probably not the way other people think but this is what I meant. I dont think its rude to flash your high beams (daytime) but for me, if you flash me, I perfer on/off or off/on, whichever the case may be. The main reason (for me) is that it is way eaiser to see lights going on and off or vis versa than it is to notice a little flicker of light that could or could not have been someone flashing me with high beams, depending on the road conditions. You will most likely be thanked but alot of times its hard to tell if someone flashed brights or just hit a bump in the road. There is no mistaking on/off it is very distinct. The reason I brought up ignorance is because I think alot of people dont know that it is hard to see if someone flashed their high beams during the day. Thats why I said dont take it personal because it was not a personal comment. I am ignorant of alot of things but dont consider myself ignorant (although others might at times:biggrin_25510:) Thats my story and I'm goin to have a beer

I try to do that as much as possilbe.....

Well, didnt ya know that if you have a badge, a star on your car and red an blue flashy lights, yer pretty much able to do whatever you wish regardless of the law??

Well, the only difference between highbeams and lowbeams during the day, unless you have DRL's, is the brightness of the light. Its still basically on/off.

i heard a rant from an idiot who was whimpering about a dude who high beamed him at night. yeah, maybe alittle irritating, but not a capitol offense. i cut mine off and on instead of the high beams and use the headlights during the day. if the other driver doesn't thank me, well, somehow i survive. maybe the high beams ain't the best way to accomplish the job, but the crying and moaning from babies isn't necessary either. neither is it that big a deal if somebody wants to (OH MY GOD!) run thier foglights or driving lights when it isn't necessary. (no, i don't)

get a life or, how about a new occupation? if something so minor gets yer little panties all bunched up, a real problem will cause you to pop a blood vessel in yer head. just drive yours, do what you know is right, and if the other guy doesn't measure up to your high standards, well, it's his loss.

You know, here lately since this thread, Ive noticed quite a few times that the few times I get to pass someone, they either dont flash me at all or when they do, its with the highbeams and I must say that even at night, they are the least bit bothersome to me so I really have a hard time giving sympathy to some one who cries like a little beeotch about the use of'em during the day.

Flash and respond, it's real simple. Common courtesy on the roads, it goes a long way.
