The £40m is just the fee to be in the club and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Like you say theres the healthcare cost and then we detain a lot of people. Yarlswood isnt far from me (saw the flames when they torched it a few years back) Its now better than most hotels I can afford to stay in.

Here's an example, one I met today, seems sadly typical.
A Somalian mom of three, who gets £1600 a week in welfare, (thats around $2400, guys!), and has a rent free apartment in NOTTING HILL !!!!

I work 2 jobs, around a 60 hour week, and take home around a quarter of that, plus I am taxed in order to pay her welfare.

    Hhhmmm.

And they wonder why the English are leaving?

Come to Romania and see how much money take romanian politicians!!! You'll be surprised! How much and how fast!
Come to see how many taxes, I have to pay, like citizen; how I have to pay everything on the west prices level, or higher prices! Only taxes and prices are on your countries level; not the salaries!
Come here to see how many chinese come and work here... so, we come and work on west... so, you must go and work over the ocean... but not for long time, because, we will come there too! :biggrin_255: just joke... for now :biggrin_2553:
Everyone have reasons to complain and everyone is looking for a better way of life, even, if for that, must work far away from home... :yes2557:
This is Europe now and God know how much time will be...

i know man, politicians made european union to get richer, and we will all be poorer we still have the salaries of before euro but prices and taxes twice as much, don't misunderstand me, i have quite a few rumanian friends working with me, i don't have a problem with Rumanians (if they behave well, problem is that many many criminals came here once europe was united, and also my friend told me so, problem is that the italian law sucks so if they get arrested they do way less time in prison in italy than in your country).
Problem is the truking companies that found the way to use poor people to lower the fare people that are forced to stay weeks in the truck to eat . I spoke with a bulgarian driver few days ago, he was away from home for 6 months always in the truck and was parked there for over 30 days, when not working he was getting 10 euros a day. This is slavery man!!!!

It'd really help us if you learned OUR rules.

    eg
No driving over 7.5t in the outside lane of a motorway ..unlike the Slovakian, Hungarian and Polish drivers on the M25 at 5am today between J26 and J27 towards Heathrow.

another would be if you want to turn right on a roundabout for Gods sake get in the right hand lane DON'T just turn from the left hand lane.

Funny how I can drive across Europe with the steering wheel on the wrong side of the vehicle without causing total chaos compared to the amount of Eastern Europeans who bring mayhem and death to the UK roads.

Our Police and DOT are clamping down as hard as they can and have started fining and impounding foreign trucks that operate illegally and are not fit for our roads, more and more foreign drivers are facing jail too for Drink Driving, Driving hour offences and causing accidents.

It hasn't come a moment too soon.

A Polish driver nearly killed my wife and kids a few months back, luckily shed listened to me when I told her what you guys are like on our roundabouts, she held back and the driver crushed someone elses car and not hers.

I really want our customs agency to stop and check every vehicle they physically can at the ports and refuse entry to the UK for any defective driver or truck. We need to hit these substandard drivers and dangerous vehicles hard and often.

You have right! That's true, I'm not proud about that, but, I must admit it; a lot of romanians citizens have an unappropriate behavior in society... and they don't deserve to live free! Somebody said: "some peoples are alive, because it's illegal to kill them!"... Don't misunderstand me! All I want to say is, the penalties is not every time, on the measure of the infraction!

Speaking about these companies, who use this way of work; I know some guys, romanians, who work in Italy, for TIR Express, in same conditions - 6 months in cabin, 2 weeks at home and earn around 1600 E/month. In all this time, they don't have weekends, no Easter, no Christmas, nothing... It's unfair!

Something here, in the european political system, is not work properly... I'm afraid the "Old Continent" cannot keep up with the "New World"... And all this, is because of our mentality, wich is different from the point of view, from over the ocean! We let somebody else to decide from our ways of life... and this, on our money! Don't have sense! Normal, on my money, you do what I want you to do, not what you think I want you to do!

    That is really slavery.

Currently here in Estonia are job offerings for EU work where you need to be 2 months on and 2 weeks off. And even that is pretty bad.

One offer to my friend was 2 months on and 1 month off. That is more humane i think. Don t know about the salary though.

I know tirexpress, but all big companies are the same. They are having problems now finding people who work cheap, since there was a big Rumanian wave after you joined europe but now most of the driver after a few years in Italy asked more money, so they are switching to african and indians

Funny to see many of the same complaints on this forum as I hear in the US. But in the US foreigners immigrate and don't get #$% from the govt. in handouts. I know Americans (mostly white and black) that complain they don't have a job, how the foreigners are taking their jobs etc. But when it comes down to it many Americans feel they have a right to a job with good pay and bennies but they neither want to work or sacrifice.

And if I was a manager at a company and I was hiring for a low-skill level job (Cook, dishwasher, janitor etc) and 2 folks came in, an American and an immigrant with poor English skills, I would probably hire the immigrant. Why? Cause the American won't be happy to be in the same postion and will be looking for another job. And an American would just quit with no notice. I might get 6 months work from him. But the immigrant will be appreciative of a job, work harder, stay around longer and more likely give some notice before leaving.

Immigrants in the US contribute far more than they take. I'm all for open borders and free (but fair) trade. Maybe Europe is just super racist...
