Sitting at the pilot in wytheville and some white volvo lost all its fuel coming in the drive. Gotta knock on the door by maintenance guy telling me to shut off my truck due to the fuel spill, emergency folks didn’t want anybody idling.

Tank split open or did they lose a fuel line?
Either way that’s gonna be an expensive cleanup.

I imagine tank busted as much fuel is on the ground. Dump truck worth of sand.

Was given a load picking up in Akron, Indiana. Two stops due in Des Moines any time today (12/18) between 00:01 and 23:30. Picked it up Tuesday (12/17) and was planning on spending the night at Iowa 80 when I got a call from HQ asking me to drop the load at a Knight drop yard (actually a Hirschbach yard) in Joliet so I could deliver a high-priority WalMart load 10 miles away today (12/18). Once I was done delivering the load to Wally World, I was to return the empty trailer to the Knight drop yard, hook back up to my Des Moines load, and get it delivered before 23:30.

So I spent the night at the Joliet drop yard, made on-time delivery to WalMart, returned the empty to the drop yard, and hit the road to Des Moines. Plenty of time to get there. Delivery window was almost (but not quite) 24 hours, and I was gonna get to the 1st receiver by 5:00pm. Lots of room to spare.

Arrived at the 1st receiver to discover that nobody was there. It's a store, not a warehouse, and contrary to what the load assignment suggests, it's not a 24-hour operation. They closed at 4:00pm, an hour and 15 minutes before I got there. Place was locked up tight, windows were dark, no cars in the parking lot, nobody answering the phone, etc. Same thing with the 2nd receiver.

And in the meantime I had been given a load assignment for tomorrow. A load assignment which expects me to have an empty trailer first thing in the morning. Which I will not have because I'm still loaded with the freight I was supposed to deliver tonight.

Called HQ and explained the situation. Dude on the other end of the phone started to say "Well, the only answer I can give you..."

I stopped him and let him know that there was no question mark at the end of my sentence. I wasn't asking for answers. I was letting them know what I was going to be doing: Going to a truck stop for the night, and then attempting delivery in the morning. I was also letting them know that there was now no way I would be making tomorrow's pick-up appointment on time, and they might wanna figure out what to do about that.

I can't imagine there are any other Abilene trucks besides me within 200 miles of Des Moines, so I expect they'll leave tomorrow's pre-load on me. Remains to be seen if they'll reschedule the pick-up appointment and not tell me.

If the truck is smart enough to know it needs to do a regen (or else it will shut itself off), why isn't it smart enough to just perform the regen?
