Probably so but being the creature of habit I am, I like driving that one on. Doesn’t mean I won’t try it with this truck, but probably won’t do it often.

I thought I had a picture and may find it later, but it was on this beautiful ride that I perfected 7 trucks.LBZ, Rugerfan, brian991219 and 2 others Thank this.

That's the headrack that you had to drive the one behind the cab, isn't it? I had a Delavan (which we could back them in) but loaded next to Cottrell guys.
I used to have pics of 9 car loads, 5 1500's, 3 mid suv/van, 1 car. IIRC, I had to have an extended or regular cab for bottom to keep height reasonable. Lots of overlap between 2&3, looked pretty wild. -
This particular truck you backed it behind the cab. One of the 3 had to be a regular cab short bed for it to work. I think also had to be a 2 wheel drive.

I am not an expert on this rig yet by a long shot, but 3 loads in and I know a whole lot more than I did Monday morning. @EvertonP I know the 7th one is a Tacoma which is cheating. Some nice sunny day when I have time to kill get ready for a picture of 7 Tundras. I may not do a second one but I will try the first one eventually.

Delete this before the GM dedicated people get bright ideas lol -
This is my bread and butter load that I try to do 3-4 of a week when the freight is available. Usually loaded in 55 minutes on the Cottrell, did it in an hour and a half today. Got my pins and idler positions marked today and I hope to drop my load time by 15 minutes tomorrow and back to 55 minutes within a couple weeks. I am still tweaking the load so don’t look too hard just yet. @Kawinige01
I know the back bottom deck is out far, but I know my route and there is no dips or high spots. LolTall Mike, Kawinige01, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
Tall Mike, Kawinige01, carhaulerjeff and 4 others Thank this.

Were you able to get enough on the tongue to keep the steers reasonable?
-
I didn’t scale but on my Cottrell it was less than 14,600. Very little fuel onboard and less tare weight on the steers, 900lbs less with the Lohr so I should be good. 4 pickup trucks and every one had a bed cover. The Lohr carries more weight on my tandems than the Cottrell did for similar loads.Last edited: Dec 21, 2024
