Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

Those ratios are a joke too because the loads posted aren't reality when there's only one customer with one load but there's 10 brokers posting it AND they're posting it multiple times per day from many different cities. A single load can easily turn into 50.

 

Good old automotive freight. Got 3 good weeks in on my new gig. Now I’m off till Jan 6th. 17 days. When I used to do automotive, 25 years ago, I used to pay my House and Truck payments every 3 weeks instead of monthly. Then be a month ahead at Christmas time. Then start again usually in February, and be a month ahead by summer during the tooling change over shut down. Take the 2 weeks off for vacation. Had a good system. So I’m currently looking for some part time holiday work. Lol. Just want to start out fresh and not in the hole for 2025. Amazon is out. They’re on strike in NJ. Just saw 3 picketers outside the Pontiac Mi. Terminal. Looked bleak. 3 picket signs, 500 workers inside making OT. This Industry is always in turmoil. Should have went to HVAC trade school. Lol. Maybe I’ll finally get my 2022 taxes ready to file. Add the IRS to the list of creditors I’m negotiating with. Fun Fun. Meanwhile fuel is down and rates are to the moon. Always late to the party.

 

Anyone think the Jan 15 port strike will happen? I’m seeing shippers bring in extra heavy during these last couple weeks and then have preparations ready to store containers. I guess that last agreement was more of a stop gap?

 

It was just a 90 day cool off period I believe. Then they have the right to strike again if they did not agree to the deal that was proposed. I think they will agree to it myself or something very close to it. I doubt it shuts down and if does it will not do so for very long.

 

It was a delay because Christmas is the wrong time to strike.

The extra heavy is retail stockpiling before the tarriffs kick in again.

If the strike even looks like it's going to happen. Make sure you stockpile TP. So you can sell it for profit. We all know how dumb America is.

One guy got blasted on FB.. He was buying a whole pallet from costco.

 

Pretty sure we make tp here, that's not to say it won't be horded.
