I thought it was just us guys in Cascadias that did dumb stuff. The guys in the nice Petes were supposed to be professional.

 

That's what I thought too. I've seen some dumba** stuff done in a nice pete though He looks grouchy.

 

Did something similar with an empty tilt (like a conestoga but not sliding) in Italy many years ago. I had been given an address to load, checked it on the map, a small village outside Milan. Turned off the road onto a track just like that but then I saw the entrance to the walled village, a low stone arch, tight even for a car, and realised I was in the wrong place. No way to reverse onto the road, it was jet black night with rain sheeting down so, saw the bend, saw the ditch, put the pedal to the metal and rode it through. I saw the tandems drop into the ditch but kept it going and they jumped up the other side and I was free. It was a loop track that brought me back to the road. Good job I wasn't loaded. I had my then lady friend, later wife with me. She had every confidence and didn't stir.
I later discovered that there was an industrial suburb of Milan with the same name as that village.

 

I can imagine some of the towns in Italy are very tight.

 

Amen to that. Can’t understand why he’d even attempt it. Maybe it helps explain why he’s on his fourth job in the 4 four years I’ve known him
