    Aviation Boatswain Mates are fantastic at running a flight deck...I was always impressed watching them operate in that dangerous environment.

    Ashore it could be a different story with the liberty incidents, but you gotta take the good with the bad. As soon as you get underway they're all business.

    Fortunately, I got along with the Air Boss. He could chew you out and make you like it. Air Boss is usually an E-8 or E-9 Aviation Boatswain Mate.
    I was E-5 Airdale for awhile running a small flight deck crew. I wore the white jersey w/white vest & black checkerboard stenciled on it. I saw a couple of those in the videos.
