Seed Wheat from growers, sells for anywhere from $12.00-$15.00 a bushel(60#'s) or sometimes in 50# bags.

That's for Clearfield private seed. The hybrid is the highest. And yes it runs in the $200 bu. range. They plant about 30 lbs/acre. The public varieties are much cheaper but I guess only bout 20% or so of the acreage goes in public varieties anymore. What I don't understand is that the Clearfield technology was developed by LSU but instead of staying in the public domain they sold the rights off. I don't really get that.

Finally got some rain this morning, only.20 but we have been real dry. Supposedly may get more tomorrow. This will really help the wheat and the corn that has been planted. Farmer I haul for has 1700 acres of wheat, this should improve his mood.

It hasn't improved "my mood" any, as we have only received about .1 of an inch, really could use 1"-2"~:biggrin_25510:

The way it looked earlier today, it should be headed your way. Hubby was in Newport this morning, said that it was sprinkling. The radar was pretty lit up over KS this morning. Haven't paid attention since though. Prolly coming up here to blast us. :yes2557::biggrin_25511:

I hadn't realized you have been that dry. Guess I am used to last few years when you were about flooded out.

Hot corn gluten feed,GRRRR.Long,Long,Long Day:biggrin_25521:. I still miss my hopper though, when that stuff hangs in the front,on one side of the dump ,with the wind gusting to 35mph,I REALLY miss my hopper,I don't mind the extra hour or so poking feed out of the hopper,at least i'm not having a nervous breakdown worrying its going to tip over with the next big wind gust:biggrin_2554:.I had the right axle on 3 2x8s stacked on top of each other and STILL wasn't level:biggrin_25512:

Got caught in that rainy mess today. Coming down by the bucket load, finally gave up, called it a day and went home. Wasn't really storming, just lots of hard rain.
