I don’t need a schedule, I’ll stay out as long as my company wants me to stay out. Hell, I’ll stay out here for two months straight. I just want 7/2 ratio of days off. I prefer to run longer and get more days off together. Never liked running
Monday to Friday. Keep me out two months and then I’ll take 10 days and go sit on a beach someplace. Unfortunately this industry doesn’t really allow that.

Yeah, the same outfits that brag about assigned trucks and tell you about earning days off for time out are usually the same ones who want to throw a warm body in your truck if it sits more than 2 days.

    Vacation? Bye, bye truck.

Been out for months want a week off?

First of all, I would never work for a company like that. And second of all, I would call their bluff. I’d be fine. You don’t get the luxury of running me all over the country for up to two months at a time with endless flexibility on my part…. I want to be home like everybody else Friday by 3 PM. And I’ll be back on the truck Sunday night or Monday morning like everyone else….. They’re gonna wish they had that flexibility still out of you because that’s what most drivers don’t give them….. And if that doesn’t work, I’d say fine. I’ll detail the truck put me in whatever you got when I get back. I just went out for two months. I’m going to sit on the beach in Hawaii. Lol. Play poker.

I don’t understand why a lot of truckers don’t value time off. I just never understood that. To me it’s the number one thing in finding a good fit. Even above pay.

Well, I run the same equipment every day and I’m too afraid of anybody else touching it.
