Oh man I'm so sorry for your loss, I bet man how's work on your end. Here in my area workload is pretty steady for being January plus it also helps that 23 terminals shut down due to bad weather so now it's time to play catch up lol.

Work is good. As many hours as I want, and occasionally a couple more than that. Haha yeah, the weather has been wretched in certain areas this year.

There’s been maybe a day or two around the holidays where my barn got slow, but beyond that we’ve never slowed down. Add to that having a day last week where the snowstorm shut us down, we have drivers from other terminals coming to help.

Things have been great health wise for my son. We’re still navigating his developmental delays from chemo but he’s a healthy and happy little boy so that’s all we could ask for.

It’s been years since I’ve been in a truck at this point. I worked my way into a private equity firm and was recently promoted to Director of Information Security. The company isn’t quite big enough to support a CISO position yet but that is the path I’m on with them. I probably hit a 1 in a million jackpot with the corporate environment I landed at.

I miss pulling a tanker occasionally.

    How’s things on your end?

The same recruiter that signed me on when I worked there sent me a text message a month or so ago. Told her there was a zero percent chance I’d drive a truck again.

Cross Country has been talking to me about moving into an office job, with me having some health issues cropping up I might do that.

My question is @McUzi is do you miss the driving part?

    McUzi Thanks this.

Take the office gig and take care of your health!

I don’t miss the driving part. I do however miss the group of guys I used to work with and the camaraderie that came with it. We were a pretty tight knit crew that had each other’s six.

It’s in our safety department, and I have no filter…. :D:D:D

The other slot (which they filled) was for an overnight supervisor, and I can’t sleep at all during the day anymore, so safety dept it is. Lol

Glad your son is doing better!!

They have calmed down or I would of never went there. For the most part it's quiet at my small terminal. I don't see the TM maybe once every couple of months. I got a following too close video they didn't really say much. They have bigger problems than cameras. iNDY terminal is a #### show. I waited 2 hours for an empty last week. The wait times are crazy. They will hold you past your cut but if your late past your cut they wanna slap your hand. It's ok but 25 years and retiring from them would be a tuff thing to do.
