My first cdl renewal is coming up in June...anything I should be prepared for?
I read that I won't need to take written tests unless I have violations. I only have one written warning ( which was bypassing a portable weigh station). Will I need to do prepared for chaos?

Only thing to worry about during the renewal is your vision. Well that and your checkbook :)

Bean Jr., Speedy356 and dboot01 Thank this.

If you have a hazmat endorsement you'll have to retake the test.

Did you get a renewal letter in the mail?
If you did, look up in the top right hand corner, it’ll tell you what if any tests you have to take!

    dboot01 Thanks this.

If you're having trouble passing your DOT physical, need health tips and tricks please contact Bella Medical Associates. My husband and I use this service. By the way, please list me as your referral... I ❤️ spreading the word about their services because it made a tremendous difference for my husband... and I love their vouchers/savings when you refer a friend!

In Alabama, you don't need anything but a blank check or free access to a debit/credit card. If you don't have a REAL ID (Alabama calls it a STAR ID), the DMV will ask you if you want to upgrade to that. All you need is a birth certificate or current passport and a couple of various pieces of mail that has your current address on it.

I just renewed mine yesterday. I checked in at 1228 for a 1300 appointment and was leaving with my renewed license at 1245. I dropped my haz-mat the last time I renewed 4 years ago.
