24yo no-lifer, need company / newbie advice.

One driver on this forum works for Schneider and asked for a transfer to Las Vegas from Illinois. Guess what, Schneider approved him for transfer to Las Vegas.

Again, the cat may be the problem. Maybe have to put the cat in a kennel for awhile. I don't know the monthly fee for that.

 

Here's one with a terminal in Las Vegas. Swift does have a pet policy, but don't know about the cat.
Has their own CDL school. If you go with Swift, go with refrigerated division.

In the not-so-distant past....companies that would pay a salary while you get a CDL with them....would include....but were/are not limited to:

• Roehl Transport (van, reefer, flatbed)
• Western Dairy Transport (food-grade tanker)
• R E West (van, flatbed)

Western Dairy would also provide lodging & meals during that time, as well.

Not sure if WDT...or the others will now....or not -- inquire within, to verify.

I didn't know Schneider allows cats. If so, that may be your best bet.

 

BAD NEWS: REGARDLESS of the carrier you start out with -- it's VER-RY UNLIKELY they will allow your cat along for the ride -- while you are out on a trainer's truck.

Better arrange alternative arrangements for the cat during that time.
