He will be going to prison up to 6 years. He was doing 17 mph over in a construction zone with two cell phones and a laptop out. Personally I’d say he’s getting off fairly light. Up to 6 years means realistically probably 3 years.

tscottme, Bean Jr., Concorde and 5 others Thank this.

I wouldn't be surprised if this company opened under another name and is still operating. Over 50% out of service rate is crazy. Definitely not surprised they are out of Chicagoland!!!

Not in Indiana it ain’t. Remember this is the same state that issues $10,000 overweight fines!

What a joke this whole CSA score thing is. If it actually worked, they would have put the company OOS BEFORE they have a fatality accident. You could have no system at all and put them out after these accidents happen.

Going to really depend on the Jury. I hope it’s packed with jurors who have little kids themselves and a majority of them women.

As @ElmerFudpucker said, the over hos may not be a big deal unless, and I hope that they dig back in the logs and find it happens regularly.

What really gets me is that I never hear of the carrier owners getting put in jail. They’re the ones responsible for safety and see the violations in hos as they happen.

Let’s just hope that the fmcsa and state dot are watching over the truck vin numbers and where they end up.
