New owner torn on a new truck.

Not saying your wrong but every cascadia i have ever PERSONALLY driven with a detroit has been a shop queen. Think my all time favorite was me and dad got a brand new at the time 2015 cascadia with a detroit and we went to the dealer to pick it up and it got all of 2 miles before it just shut off due to the ECM failing. Then that thing spent almost every week of the 50k miles we had it in the shop getting repairs. It finally dropped a liner and got a new engine. Then the new engine overheated after a week when something broke. So they put us back into the T600 with 2.8 million on the C15 under the hood. Granted that one was truely special....but....it did leave an impression. Another one i used was a 2009 in the oil field and if i could go 5000 miles without it throwing codes it was a good week.

Only good detroit i used was an old D60 series under the hood of a 379.

 

Its on the list. Im waiting for it to be actully legal and not void my warranty which just paid 18k in repairs lol. Not willing to gice up that warranty yet.

If it shapes up well though in debateing putting an N14 in or tradeing in for an HX520 In a couple years when i recover from the ball punches the last 4 months or so. International is going to start offering that scania 550 horse motor and those are supposed to be dead reliable compared to most modern engines.

 

Yea i wasnt meaning the S13. The dealer i talked to said there was a good chance they were going to offer that V8 monster 770 at the end of 25 or 26 and it was supposed to have a cut down 550 horse version that is popular that would be offered here. He did say they could pair the S13 to an 18 if i special order but had to ask and i didnt bother since it was just me yapping with him while i was waiting on my fuel system to be fixed.

Though I still may consider the S13 even with an auto if its reliable enough. But thats going to be a 3+ years of watching and it becoming an industry leading powerhouse before id go that route thing.

 

Oof been there done that when my mom got sick. Never fun. Hopefully he gets better soon. If you ever get up near watertown sd lemme know, we will go for beers on me.
