From my understanding that local is on the higher side as far as buy ins-
That said, kinda depends on what you do if that would be worth it as a OO.
Theres opportunity as far as dump work on union jobs that would be worthwhile/
Most of the dump trucking and local open deck and heavy equipment moves in my general area are covered by union drivers working for companies though vs as individuals with their own equipment that have bought in.
Occasionally their will be a load posted on the board needing a union driver to bring something from NJ to the city. Bout 50/50 whether they have no money on it or pretty significant money from what I have seen. Not enough money or often enough that I’d go get it. On the other hand, we don’t know what opportunities we don’t have til we have them. We know what we know in other words.
Like I didn’t initially start buying piggybacks because people were beating down my door to pay me a lot of money to use them; but now that I have them sometimes people do.
All that to say: sometimes investments are all about who you know vs the skills you have/ -
