Those do not like big hammers or trying to press bearings, they are a handy tool for light work however.

An old saying useful to young people planning on marrying..
"If you don't know jewelry, know you jeweler".
Applied to trucking,,, : "If you do not know the road, admit it and respect it till you do."No shame in being 2nd, and still breathing."

And in saying that, It comes to me that probably over 80% of the roads I run in my 1st year for J.T. Garrard I had never been on before.
We hauled a lot of different loads; from a lot of different places, and seldom did you repeat in the same month.
And then Starkville to Memphis, or Vicksburg, or Tuscaloosa; you learned, to get lined out for IA/the Dakotas, or W to find Nogales, or seeking St Pete or Miami.

Big differences younger guys never had: Every service station in every town had a nice city map taped to the inside of the glass entrance door.
And all major oil company's published and distributed nice; current, detailed state maps. (With most containing a small copy of the major cities)
Find a state line, cross, stop. Get a state map. Decide on your route to the city. drive to the city limits and stop at a service station, look at his city map and get his input while doing it. (Live-Current GPS with the obstacles explained.)
I cannot remember the 1st Rand McNally I bought.
