Yea we have a bunch of “Special” customers that. 1. Order to 100 Percent. 2. English isn’t their 1st language, or even a language they speak smh. 3. Park their cars on top of the fills and think I won’t drive off. 4. (My personal favorite) Puts a food truck right in front of the fills that I have to shut down and the owner can’t understand that fuel deliveries and dumbashes do not mix. 5.Lastly Half of them don’t know where/what box is/does and just expect me to wander and find it.
And speaking of special, the public has gotten especially short bus. Almost got into a fist fight on the 6th cause some idiot did a full 360 and ran my cones over and almost backed over to my fill and attempted to ignore me cause he needed air and was late for work.Took picture of my unit like I was the one that was crazy

Ah, that's good to know. Lately I've decided to call in and inquire before putting in app. I'm still trapped in a non HAZMat area. So a move, plus divesting myself of non essentials would be first priority.
Strangely enough, haven't been finding any Loves/Gemini openings in Amarillo or Lubbock. Two places not so far from me to wear I can actually easily move to whilst not quitting the current job. -
Texas is one of the most competitive markets, they're not going to spend time answering questions for non serious people when they're getting hundreds of applications for one job posting. If you have questions you can ask me or Taylor. -
Of course the whole move/relocation thing is another issue that deserves its own thread.
That said, the whole food grade thing has gotten tiring and I just want to get back to sleeping in my own bed and playing with my trains everyday. Was local prior to 2020 and want to get back to having some of life outside of work. New Mexico has gotten on my last nerve as well. -
scythe08 and bentstrider83 Thank this.

Pretty dumb at this day and age to take everything any recruiter from any company as gospel.Last edited: Mar 20, 2025

Did talk to a loves driver at the Loves in Clovis. Thought I had it down. Then he left me in the lurch.
No way to get experience unless I go out and get it from some place else I suppose(Coastal, Groendyke, United Petroleum). 12 years of food grade tanking seems like time wasted now. Not discounting what you're saying. But it's definitely a gut buster to the whole "getting more out of this line of work".
But first and foremost, got to get out of this town and don't look back. Luckily I'm kind of a hermit here. So won't be noticed. -
Expressing both of the above to the recruiter will set you apart. The reality is that country wide the fuel hauling market is much harder to get into vs 3/4 years ago.bentstrider83 and lual Thank this.
