I’ll be right at 1,600 miles for the week. So not bad, but not great. Makes me glad I’m hourly. Lol

Well, when I think about all the ninnies too scared to run more than 10 miles from the yard, I would most definitely call that great. I would go batty having that to look forward to every day.

We have the best of both worlds, with a bit of physical activity and enough windshield time to scratch the road itch.

Yes we do. I’ll gladly take this over OTR or regional. You’re right about scratching that road itch, I know i definitely scratch that dirt road itch a lot during the week. Seeing the same customers, too. I’d say we got it the best.

Our terminal doesn't do bids or runs for P&D. Not that I'm even a P&D guy. Some days I'm just a janitor for a few hours. Almost a decade into a trucking career and I still get to make hours mopping the break room and dumping candy wrappers and pizza boxes into a roll off. Line gets bids and a yearly seniority based pull on the various runs. We've got about 10 out of 15 P&D drivers who don't even had a set start time for each day. They just find out when they go home the day before. Poor saps might have nearly 10 years at the same yard and still be working on call each morning to dump out and refill 3 48' trailers and drive 20 miles total.

Must be an East Coast thing or something. We have maybe 3 guys running P&D who break 500 miles a week. And those fellas have been here for 20 years or more.

    Small yard problems I guess.

This week I put 1,433 on the odometer. Had an extra long day Thursday. Ran all the way down by Forbes, ND. Monday I ended up at a town called Napoleon, ND.

Seems like my average is 1,400 miles per week for sure now.

Yes sir. Last week seemed to drag on and on, but this one won’t. My miles will be a LOT lower, we’re expecting a nice little snow storm to hit Tuesday afternoon thru Thursday morning. I’m already off on Thursday and now will most likely be off Wednesday.
