Well, I stumbled across this thread in the midst of searching for some information.
I read the entire thing. That took a minute.
I thoroughly enjoy @JolliRoger recollections. You sir, remind me for the word of an old friend of mine from New Mexico who trucked for 61 years, and finally had to give it up due to Parkinson’s.
Some posts made me laugh, some brought tears to my eyes, and some I just had to shake my head.
@wore out , I understand the pain of building a truck, and then laying it over. Big difference as my incident was all my fault.
I wish Uncle Gus/@Catmando/@Last Call was still on here cause I think I could get him fired up about what all is wrong with my current ride.
I’m not a bovine relocation specialist, but have moved exactly three loads helping out others that were in a bind.cke, austinmike, JolliRoger and 14 others Thank this. -
Cooter called it. My little skid steer was retarded. The owner is a little retarded too, but that’s a different story. I got it all sorted out and she runs good as new. I might even try to sell it and see if I can’t buy another project.

This is the Freightliner I built, then almost laid over. I still have it. It sits beside the shop awaiting the resurrection.
It started life as a California truck.2001, factory daycab, 185” wheelbase single axle, 6NZ, 13 speed, loaded interior.
I stretched it to 248”, used the car hauler Airliner (moved the brackets up on the frame also), swapped in a 5” drop front axle, completely rebuilt it from the frame down. Single drive, tag axle, 3.21 ratio, locker. -
Too bad her mama didn't.cke, Gatordude, broke down plumber and 9 others Thank this.

Nice rig you built. Is it just the camera angle or is that hood longer than stock?cke, JolliRoger, Gatordude and 12 others Thank this.
