Tight spaces are just a part of trucking. I can prove this by the showing you the stations I deliver fuel to everyday. You seem to want the world, but not willing to make any sacrifices

I just said that in my post and that I'm willing to tolerate them... But you fuel delivery guys have my respect though, I'd hit a fuel pump or something doing that lol.

I read on another thread about some guys saying go LTL. LTL can be and is a good life, but I’ll tell you starting out you’ll be working nights, driving a fork lift on a dock at some companies. If you put your mind to it you can make a great living and have a good life working LTL. I just retired from LTL with 30+ years and have a good retirement. I made a lot of sacrifices along the way, but not as many as driving OTR!
I ran OTR before I started LTL and I knew when I started LTL that I would never go back OTR even though I thought LTL was miserable the first few years!
Once you get some time in you can get a gravy run and it just gets better from there on out!

You're too cranky. You need to eat some Raisin Bran, get that fiber intake up, stay off the roller grill items at the truck stop....maybe get laid after that.

    nextgentrucker Thanks this.

Yeah, I'll give LTL a try, when I'm ready to go local, I'm guessing you didn't like OTR, for now I'll do OTR, then do LTL or something else when I'm ready to go local.

I loved OTR back in the day, I was home on the weekends.
The way things are on the roads now a days, not only NO but hell no would I ever want to go back OTR
There wasn’t no ELDs back then and log books were a dime a dozen:D

Well, you can pass them. It will just take a bit more time.
Or you could just slow to 63 at a safe distance and enjoy the ride.
You do realize that in a 10 hour driving day, that 2 miles per hour equals only 20 minutes.
And you would not be behind that truck for that whole 10 hours. One of you would pull off for one reason or another, and then the problem would be gone.

Likely you would lose maybe a couple minutes maximum by just relaxing a little bit.
And if you are running your loads so tight that you would be late by losing 5 minutes, you are doing something very wrong.

I get your points on a lot of what you want. I agree with much of it because I've lived that life.
But you also need some perspective when you are basically demanding the conditions that you are willing to work in.

I will do this and that, but not this or that or that... and it all comes at a price.
Me? I have done it my way because the money was not as important to me as was the option to do it my own way.
    So, I make less money.
