I didn’t look close enough. You and elmer are right about the counterweight and boom.

Still 35 ton ain't nothing. I guess there is more to purpose-built than just the words.

Low profile rubber and low ride fifthwheel legs made for a van probably don't help either.

I can't legally pull a van east of the Mississippi but I'm not out here trenching parking lots with my trailers either.

There really needs to be some sort of training and possibly a separate endorsement. This crap is getting out of hand.

I reckon I'm about done this year, honestly. we've lost 7 since new years. 5 of which we really shouldn't have lost.

I'll go back to five axles. less headache. take a pay cut but enjoy my job again. maybe still have shoulders, knees, and a back in 10 years.

Gatordude, sawmill, Feedman and 6 others Thank this.

petey has been off since before thanksgiving. he's fighting our workmans comp setup for surgery. they just want to send him to therapy. believe it's both if not a single knee that's giving him ####. he wore the brace, forever.

Feedman, Oxbow, CAXPT and 3 others Thank this.

I'd like to think I'm relatively smart. but I ain't smarter than peter, randy, pony tail, john, anyone that's fought for surgery since i've been here... I'll take the easy out and go back to five axles. The money WAS great. Not so much anymore thanks to the rest of the industry.

Gatordude, Feedman, Oxbow and 4 others Thank this.

I think the only way to fix it would be to actually hold the shippers/receivers and brokers responsible as well when these guys inevitably rip down a bridge or lose a machine on the highway.

As long as there is no accountability they will continue the race to the bottom seeing who can be the first guy to get a truck to pay them to haul their freight.

These idiots keep hauling freight for nothing and then have to use BS ELDs that they can have their buddy edit so they can run 6000 miles a week to make $500 profit.

Then they stand around confused why the trailer snapped in half or why they are blowing tires every 500 miles.

W923, IH Truck Guy, cke and 9 others Thank this.
