I’m really surprised their clothing didn’t immediately combust and melt to their body. That’s a HUGE concern, with today’s synthetic materials.

Before you ask i was walking into the truck shop at an old job to grab some lights when someone was torching something. And some of his sparks and hot metal bits landed in an old gas can and caused it to explode when i was walking past.
Never worn plastic since.
Edit: actully here ill post this. Those little round scars are where the platic had fused with my skin when i tore the burning jacket off and ripped chunks of skin out or where they had to pull hardened plastic out.
Do not recomend.

Even non FR gear you can get in 100% cotton or other such materials that wont melt. They may burn but wont melt. Also you can get stuff like flameguard to treat most clothing for like $15 a bottle. I typically retreat my clothing every 4th or 5th wash and from some testing on old stuff it works almost as good as the new stuff right from the store.mjd4277, Flat Earth Trucker, The_vett and 2 others Thank this.
