I am finally in SC, at the alleged receiver.

This load has been a Romeo Foxtrot since it crossed my Samsara.

First, and most definitely MY FAULT, I overslept by about two hours before pickup.

All that did was eat up my "time cushion": it was still theoretically possible to arrive at the pickup on time.

Except I got caught waiting behind a big wreck on I-75 north of.....(all together now) ATLANTA!

I get to the pickup, can still make the drop on time if I get loaded by 2pm.

Nope. At 4 pm I'm told they're out of soybean oil, new batch won't be ready until 10pm.

10pm, get in line to load. I'm number 6.

Get loaded at 1am, consignee and address don't match dispatch. Make some calls.

Leave pickup, turn on to the I-565 East ramp and.....come to a dead stop.

CB says a fatal accident being cleaned up on the other side of the hill. Two hours shot to heck...

Drive straight thru, except for a stop for fuel, and a "safety nap" around sunrise.

Arrive at 11 am for an 8 am delivery.

Now this Major National Brand Producer of food and water is making me wait.

And I already lost 11 hours of moist, delicious detention at the pickup, and it looks like I'm going to run my clock out here, again without the moist, delicious detention.

    I'm tired, hungry, and crabby.

But there's food in the truck, so there is that.....

No. Detention does NOT get paid to me if I'm late.

I was instructed on this policy.
It is standard procedure in the tanker segment.
    I ####ed up.

I STILL don't have to like it.....

Oh, and after being told to the contrary, at LEAST twice, the SHIPPING PAPER is correct as to destination, NOT THE DISPATCHER.

Good news: The right place was only a mile from the wrong place.

Bad news: I wasted an hour at the wrong place, until one of the people attached to the hands my paperwork was shuffling through checked some of the numbers thereon, and said, "Hey, waitaminnit!"

Bad news continued: The right place is on shift change.....

And you sent it on across to Lex-Versailles, KY and kept my daughters and the SIL up from 2 AM onward. 2 separate alarms there.
Cow still standing in front of the flat rock all morning. No direct damage to either's property.

Bad news Part II: Somewhere in the hustle and bustle of the shift change, they lost my wash ticket.....not sure what they're gonna do.
