The yellow area below can also be repaired.
The area circled in red is the core. The radiator should be able to be re-cored. See post #13.
If someone made you the wrong one then you need to find another shop.
No conversion should be necessary.

Yes, plastic tanks may not be able to be re-cored. And plastic gets old and brittle so a re-core may not even be worth it. In your post #1, that is a Paccar part, free shipping. They have 24/7 live chat. Can't the shop patch up what you have as a short term fix? Call the places that were given in this thread and ask them what your options are. I did some digging online and the one you list is the only one found. Other than that, call some of the online heavy duty radiator suppliers and ask them.
