    Well , case in point...
    Man walks into a used car dealers office in a strip mall. Got a car out here if you are interested. Dealer cranes his neck to see it parked.... Nice looking car;
    What you want for it. Well, I need ??. Dealer is ravenous..but makes it appear cagey; Transmission OK? Yeah, its good, don't skip just not responsive now cause the motor is missing. Dealer seems to be undecided but can't let this fool leave. I'm gonna take a chance just on its looks and your word on the trans.
    Here is ...$ and glad to help you. Passes over cash and the man hands him the title. (Better-No liens listed)

    Time passes, lunch time. Thinks he will drive it down to the cafe. Twists the key, and as the bros express it : M'fer wouldn't say a word...
    Gets out, gonna check the cables... Raises hood. ... The motor is missing...........

    While we’re fixin’ stuff, this was my project for this evening. These went in ole Turtle for high beams.
    Typical high beam is 50-60 watts, these are 100 watts.
    Period correct, and a whale of a lot cheaper than LED’s.
    We’ll see what I think of them when I head out Monday morning.

    Probably something you already know but check your grounds take a meter and check the amp draw at the plug. Bad connections is what makes the wires behind the switch feel warm to the touch. Sometimes it’s corroding in side the insulation that causes it and you never see it. I’m not saying those won’t help but they could add to the problem by drawing more amps and creating more heat. A lot of the reason older halogen lights seem not so good is todays lights are so much better I agree. I also think we seen better in our 20’s. But I do think a lot of it it pressure and time on an older power unit. I sold an 86 while back that had those for high beams the difference was night and day after we got the fire in the wire

    Getting back on it this week. This one isn’t a typical rebuild it’s gonna be a close contender to my black truck. We had trouble getting piston cooling nozzles and fuel nozzles. The aftermarket piston cooling nozzles wouldn’t fit the block so they sent stock ones that wouldn’t work. Then called me an idiot so I had my customer come over and put their piston cooling nozzle in his block then mine. .013 in width just well be a mile. So he bit the bullet and went CAT. I’m not knocking the aftermarket stuff what’s in it is good quality. What isn’t good just ain’t going lol. And a guy that doesn’t work on em everyday only knows what his parts people tell him. I also like my customers to see the actual problem and understand it so they know later if I’m not doing the work. This fella isn’t in a hurry. I have went through the pump and front cover. Hopefully it goes home next week

    The part I hate about being a 1 man show is staying with something to completion if I start it while down on parts for several days on the job before it. I do my best to explain that to folks. This fella has been more than understanding

    Do you want it fast or do you want it done right? You can't have both.

    I've used them back in the day, they get hot. Don't sit around with them on , need air flow to keep cool. Adjusted properly you'll be able to see the future on a dark night.

    I was going yo offer up everything except my wife, but there's no way I can even come close to matching your bid. So I concede defeat knowing it will go to someone who appreciates such a truck.
